Meet Jarryd
Jarryd Hawkins
President & CEO
Over the course of his career, Jarryd has secured millions of dollars in state and federal funding supporting healthcare, workforce development, infrastructure, and economic development initiatives. He operates at the intersection of policy, politics, and business, helping clients translate ideas into funded, approved, and executed projects.
With more than a decade of experience across local, state, and federal government, Jarryd has built deep relationships with elected officials, agency leaders, and key stakeholders throughout Maryland and the broader region. His expertise spans economic development strategy, public funding and incentives, energy and environmental policy, regulated industries, and legislative advocacy.
Prior to founding JH Government Affairs, Jarryd led high-impact advocacy campaigns and organized industry coalitions to shape state policy outcomes. He served as Prince George’s County Liaison for U.S. Senator Ben Cardin, where he played a central role in delivering emergency small business relief during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping thousands of Maryland businesses access critical funding.
Earlier in his career, Jarryd held senior roles with the Prince George’s County Council and the Maryland General Assembly, where he advanced legislative initiatives, supported economic development efforts, and worked closely with community stakeholders.
Jarryd remains actively engaged in public service. He previously served as an At-Large City Councilmember in Bowie, sits on the Board of Liberty Sports Park, and contributed to the Prince George’s County Executive’s Economic Development Transition Committee.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland, College Park and is recognized for his ability to navigate complex government systems, build strategic relationships, and deliver measurable results for clients.
